Comments
Comments: Snow has set up with the cold weather and much of the running water on Old Mountain Road has set up as blue ice, but the footbed is not firm enough to allow booting without postholing. Portions are firm enough, however postholes have been left on the ridge and a few places on Mountain Road. I wore snowshoes roundtrip and recommend them, in the very least to preserve the footbed for those who follow. Snowpack is roughly a foot deep. A dusting of snow fell last night.

Ice is expanding on Squam Lake.
