Comments
Comments: We (all 55+) put on snowshoes for the trip in but most (younger) were in just micro spikes. The trail is solid so spikes are fine but we wanted the shoes for the televators. I can attest to how well they work as my shoe's crampon broke and I had to go to the Hillsounds from just below the slide up. Major difference! The bypass bypass was used by most though the bypass could be used with good traction. No one up chimney. We all went to spikes or Hillsound Pros, crampons for the exit. The more aggressive traction was better. Many were sliding down before and after us. Cold but lower winds and great views. Another great day out in the Whites.
