|Lost and Found:
||Old Mountain Road has lots of blue ice bulges at this point from the running water freezing in recent days. Too much ice to consider barebooting. Microspiking won't be a good idea when temperatures warm up shortly, as the bulges will be very soft and result in deep slush postholing. Snowshoes were ideal due to the longer span of traction.|
Logging operation crosses Old Mountain Road a few dozen feet up, but otherwise very little impact.
Livermore Trail was fairly firm, but barebooters in recent days had postholed in places. Otherwise, a decent snowshoe track.
Snowpack is generally around a foot. Good bushwhacking conditions with snowshoes.
Squam Lake is frozen over.
