Comments
Comments: Old Mountain Road has lots of blue ice bulges at this point from the running water freezing in recent days. Too much ice to consider barebooting. Microspiking won't be a good idea when temperatures warm up shortly, as the bulges will be very soft and result in deep slush postholing. Snowshoes were ideal due to the longer span of traction.

Logging operation crosses Old Mountain Road a few dozen feet up, but otherwise very little impact.

Livermore Trail was fairly firm, but barebooters in recent days had postholed in places. Otherwise, a decent snowshoe track.

Snowpack is generally around a foot. Good bushwhacking conditions with snowshoes.

Squam Lake is frozen over.
