Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: The crossing of Lincoln Brook was on the sketchy side. Very thin snowbridge which we cracked on the return. Liberty Brook was a bit thicker but also had a spot where we punched through.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All in pretty good shape, many open drainages and muddy spots on Lincoln Brook which made for some balling issues on the snowshoes.

Comments
Comments: Lincoln picked up a few inches of fresh snow the night before this hike and with the non-stop wind it made for a day of moderate trail breaking. We were able to follow a faint trench for most of the way until a quarter way up the Brutus BW. This was my 4th time doing the BBW in winter conditions and this was by far the most snow I’ve seen on it. We lost the trench and made a beeline straight up the steeps until we hit the trench again. We followed the “normal” bushwhack route on the way down so that’s why there are 2 different sets of tracks (if they’re not blown in by now). Either set will get you there. Tough day but glad I got it done for December!
