Comments
Comments: After a soaking wet morning snowboarding at Cannon, I decided to snowshoe the Hi Cannon Trail as I hadn't been on it in many years. No major water crossings was a big plus. I put snowshoes on right away. Snowshoes necessary on Hi Cannon and on up to Kinsman Ridge - snow was totally undermined in places. Even with snowshoes I postholed in random sections - VERY tedious with the unstable monorail - really a trough, actually. 10 steps if I was lucky before I sank in a foot or 2. Along the flats where the puddles are was REALLY annoying between 3000' and 4000'. Took much longer than anticipated due to sinking in. I should have brought bigger snowshoes!!!!
