A fun hike with every winter condition presented. The logging road is tracked out. Snowshoes or microspikes would be fine for that part. The trail up has suffered from the rain and is bare in places, iced over in places and has hard packed snow in other spots so microspikes were the best way to go. A snowshoe track from a hiker who had gone up the day before ( we assume) made for a great track to follow and bypassed around most of the icy sections.
The clamber to the summit is very icy and quite a challenge to navigate. Care is needed as it's very slippery. Fun day with awesome views. |
