Comments
Comments: It stayed above freezing all day, upper 30's. Trail was wet slushy snow, with broken ice, running water. Stayed in spikes all day. Above treeline featured punchy winds below the summit estimated to be 45-50 mph. Trail was hard to follow in the stretch from treeline to the “bump”. Ok after that to the summit. Not many cairns. The big snow drift seen earlier in the month on the final ledge climb was gone and replaced with some ice and bare rock. Breezy on the summit rock but not as bad as the approach. When the trail freezes up crampons would be recommended for the stretch between the first overlook and the Champney Falls trail intersection.
