| Comments: |
Great day on the FRT; saw several groups and pairs out enjoying the nearly windless, mostly clear day. Did not need traction on the first 1.5 miles of the ascent, then the trail was like a frozen stream in spots. Several other patches of ice along the way that definitely required microspikes or something more aggressive. FRT was bare or icy. The majority of this loop is a packed snow monorail, just stay between the postholes. No snowshoes needed. Prime butt sliding on the FWT descent also! |
