Comments
Comments: Parked at the Carter-Moriah Trailhead and did the road walk to Stony Brook. Started in spikes and switched to snowshoes about halfway up. The Carter-Moriah Trail to the summit alternated between a hard crust and 1-2 ft drifts. Stuck with the Lightning Ascents and they handled everything no problem. Switched the spikes and took the Carter-Moriah Trail back to the trailhead. There was some exposed ice on the way down but it was manageable with good footwork, so didn't need my crampons.
