Trail Maintenance Notes: The Cherry Mountain Trail (from the Rt 115 trailhead) was in good shape with NO DOWNED TREES along the route. Martha's Mile was passable from the top of Mt. Martha to the top of Owl's Head. However, there are a few "leaners" along the route (see "COMMENTS" section of this report).

Comments
Comments: Recently, there have been several trail reports of blowdowns along Martha’s Mile. Being the volunteer Trail Maintainter for that trail, I opted to make a quick trip up there to assess the situation. I found that there are indeed a number of “leaners”. However, most of them are holdovers from the Halloween Storm of 2017 that devastated the Martha’s Mile corridor. It took 2-days of work by a Forest Service chainsaw crew just to make the trail passable.
So anyway, the “leaners” can easily be walked around, or walked under, EXCEPT for one which requires a bit of a “crawl under” or “scramble over”. I will tackle that one in the Springtime when longer daylight hours are available. I did have time to take care of some “low-hanging fruit” while I was up there. Four medium-size blowdowns were removed, and I de-limbed a new “leaner” to allow for an easy “walk-under” without the need to duck or crawl under.
