Comments
Comments: Broke out this trail on a very cold day with 3 others. About 12" of snow with some deeper drifts higher up. Carriage road was drifted. Took wands which were difficult to travel with (keep catching on branches) and used one to mark where we got off trail on the Carriage road. Remainder were left near treeline. Wands all picked up on the return. Although it was overcast and somewhat foggy didn't really need the wands. The tall cairns in the open area were visible. The U.S. weather bureau forecast for the day was spot on. Winds 35-40mph just before the summit, low single number temp without wind chill factor, slightly less wind on the summit. There was a place to get out of the wind just on the other side of the summit. Goggles for three of us iced over.
