| Comments: |
fr460 was unbroken until it became snomo corridor then was packed until we left it onto fr104. depths of roughly 8-12 along the road with some deeper drifts and occasional punches through a mostly supportive base underneath. from the end of the forest road we briefly followed an older road towards the peak before leaving on a bushwhack up towards the saddle between square and greens ledge. mostly open woods and we made an early turn up to the ridge on square entering spruce forest towards square that was mostly decent, but for one tight stretch shortly before the summit. some deep snow loaded in up high. good snow cover on the summit ledges up to the recognized highpoint. views were phenomenal. we back tracked and continued along the ridge towards greens ledge enountering some nice ledges enroute. once on the ascent we noted a flagged route that led to a great cliff which had signs of rock climbing infrastructure as well as awesome views. from there it was a short trip up in wide spaced evergreens to an open ledgy sub peak then a final stretch in moderate evergreens up to the recognized highpoint. from there we returned in our tracks all the way back out. |
