| Comments: |
The lower section of the Webster-Jackson trail and the Mt Jackson Branch Trail are, in a word, perfect. Substantial traffic has packed and consolidated the snow - light traction is all that is required.
However, the Mt Webster Branch and Webster Cliff trails have seen little use since the snow of last week. Our two pair of snowshoes helped, but these trails are far from consolidated and snowshoes are highly recommended. Adding to the difficulty was the many snow-laden lean-overs and encroaching spruce branches waiting to dump snow down your neck. Dress appropriately.
All-in-all a beautiful sunny day in the mountains; I can't think of a better place to be. |
