Not the ideal and easy conditions to summit mount washington after a foot of new snow covered everything. we just wanted to see how far and badass we can be. Snowshoes were a must on that day until the junction to lion's head. Then we geared up with crampons and ice axe to attack hilary's step. It was for most us a tehnical challenge. Bottle neck, one by one, our group made it up to the alpine zone. Amazingly, it was barely windy and the visibility was very good. We kept climbing up a bit still pretty mucb powdery no real issue. We arrived a little bit before alpine garden junction. It was already alittle late so we turned back.
On the way down,we used the ropes to help us going down.makes everything easier on the way down.
I slipt down seral times but powder snow saved my life.
It was the perfect day to challenged ourselves but we knew that we would not summit it.it was still an amazing adventure |
