| Water Crossing Notes: |
Drakes Brook was high with all rocks ice covered, leading to a 6.5-7 rating on the Bertrand-Blair stream crossing hazard scale. I was able to cross without mishap but others had walked the road south over the bridge, then whacked upstream to the trail. |

| Comments: |
Several hikers had climbed Sandwich yesterday after the rain and re-freeze, I surmise, based on the minimal trench depth of the track. For stretches of the upper trail the crust was completely supportive. |
