Comments
Comments: We used spikes on 19MB to trail junction. 19MB is choppy, icy and generally not all that pleasant. It was better on the way out as many boots/spikes smoothed it a bit. Carter Dome and Carter Moriah were not broken out. We 6 broke them to Zeta Pass and then Middle Carter with conditions ranging from a few inches below the breakable crust to styrofoam to solid drifts on CM. Trail is now good to go but is NOT CONSOLIDATED, so snowshoes please. We hit some postholes from one behind us but he realized that snowshoes were better as he had switched when we saw him. Nothing broken beyond Middle but one behind us planned on doing that. The ridge is tight in many places as the blazes are now at foot level. Great day out for Neil's winter 48 finish with John, Ed, Guy and Mike.
