 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The parking area was challenging. Scott had no issues in his Jeep, but when I pulled in I sank. We just left it and pushed and rocked until I got out when we left. When we first got there a car got stuck which we helped and another when we were leaving. I recommend if you plan on hiking this, unless you have a superior 4WD vehicle and some extra bodies to push you out, maybe parking further out and waling the road in might be a better option. |

 | Comments: |
Trail was not broken out much if at all when we started, all 4 of us in snowshoes. A few other hikers also helped break out/pack down the trail. However it was crusty and not consolidated much. There is a narrow monorail we did pretty well to follow underneath. As we neared the top it was a lot more challenging and we encountered increasingly more and more moose post holes. It was manageable, but a little annoying. I wasn't sure if I should curse the moose or thank them for showing me where not to step. We opted to follow the ski mobile trail down as far as possible, to make descent a breeze. Definitely made an easier mountain somewhat of a challenge, but it was an enjoyable day! |
