Up Spellman then the Pump to summit. Down White Dot.
Spellman was as challenging as it was beautiful. Words can't begin to describe how beautiful the ice flows were. But the ice bulges rounded off everything so at the really steep upper end there was very little to grab on to. Basically we had to balance on the crampons. The ice was harder than the rocks so the points didn't penetrate at all, but they held well. Only had to used a rope once. |
