Snowshoed Bennett St. Loop Rd for a few minutes and soon turned SW into a logging yard, then a short distance on a skidder road, and then through young hard woods. At approx 1600', WNW of summit, we encountered red blazes. Did not follow these since they were heading up steeply through ledges. Instead continued SW to middle of ridge, in mixed mature open woods, where grade to summit was more attractive. Then turned SE up middle of ridge, occasionally seeing red blazes, choosing easiest grades to the recognized summit. |
