Comments
Comments: New Hampshire Highest 500 peak located in the Newfound Watershed, proximate to Groton center. After scouring around for a reasonable approach to Fletcher Mt. without success, I decided to tackle nearby Jewell Hill(1990') instead. At the bottom of Ocean View Blvd, a yellow handled shovel marks the start of the snomo trail that I ascended for perhaps a quarter mile, bearing left on a general bearing toward the summit. This snomo trail splits 2 or 3 times. Just keep bearing left. My pole marks are easy to follow. The snomo trail ascended up until a home was visible to the left, or at the top of Ocean View. At this point I jumped into knee deep snow, making my way up to the obvious height of land, recognized by my Garmin GPS. Fresh Moose track and beds in abundance!A fun chilly outing.
