Ferncroft road is plowed. two 10-12 person hikes - one amc one a meetup (wilderness rules dont matter, right?) had the lot absolutely full and overflowing at 0900. Not sure why they didn't think to carpool... |

The venerable birch log on Dicey still stoically lays across the river. There is another spot that is ice bridged adjacent to it, with the warmer temps it will likely be gone (it's minimal) |

Trails this morning where in rough broke shape, only had seen minimal traffic and what traffic it had, was mainly barebooters with about half a dozen snowshoers. So it was pretty rough going to the view point. From viewpoint to true summit was broke by snowshoers so made for a far nicer and less exhausting journey. From Whiteface summit to Dicey's Mill junction was unbroken, a group of six of us ended up joining forces and got the job done. Dicey's is in superb shape from end to end.
If you do plan on doing these in the next few days, snowshoes! I brought but did not need 12pt crampons or ice axe on the ledges. Enough snow and bypasses to negate the need. Snowshoes car to car
