Comments
Comments: The Crawford path is an accommodating hard-frozen monorail, difficult to make footprints on and perfect for any traction or snowshoes. Indeed, catastrophic postholes and cave-ins from the warm spell are momentarily suspended in their frozen white mold, mostly beside the monorail. The WCT up to Pierce's summit is braided and has stretches of hard ice. If you must step off the trail, please don't step on the reddish mat plant, the threatened species Diapensia lapponica. The Crawford Path beyond WCT appeared postholed and the upper reaches of Mt. Eisenhower had little snow cover. Hopefully, one of the several parties headed there will report on conditions.
