Comments
Comments: iron mountain road is packed down by snowmobiles to the summer trailhead. it took us a second to remember where the trail went into the woods after the first field. at the second field we briefly went the wrong way before correcting onto the trail. from there to the summit the trail was generally easy to follow. some icy trees leaning into the corridor made for a wet passage higher up. snow conditions were pretty sloppy. deep and wet and sometimes supportive. in places we were breaking 6-12", in others floating on top and in others sinking all the way to the bottom. deep punch throughs were more frequent on the descent. owing to the fact it was raining and views were socked in we opted not to continue to the ledges.
