Comments: The Success Pond Road was plowed and open... but super, super icy. Lew had winter snowtires with studs, and Rick/Lisa has 4-wheel drive Jeep... so after hiking North Bald Cap, we crept two more miles along the road to tag Henry Hill.

We followed a logging road, made icy hard by a couple of snomo tracks. At a point just east of the peak at around 1750', the road leveled off. We turned sharp Left up a short steep gravel bank onto an old skid road. This was overgrown a bit and had whippets, but easy to follow. This took us within 350' of the summit, which was now easy to see through the open woods.

The jar was in a clearing on a tree, but the high point seemed to be a nearby view ledge - which had sweeping views NW to NE of Cambridge Blacks, Mahoosuc Notch... and Goose Eye. Very nice.

Returned exactly the same way. Quick hike.

Fun day with Lew D., JEM3, Rick and Lisa F.

Note: Success Pond while plowed, was SUPER icy. We went in two cars for some measure of "backup," with a bucket of sand, shovels and plastic grip tracks... all of which got put into use when we helped a fellow who had skidded into the snow bank and small snow ditch.
