| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
parking at white ledge campground is non existent this winter. a short distance (a few minutes walk) south on rt. 16 there is a large winged out area with plenty of room to park well off the road. had i thought of it i could have bushwhacked pretty much from the car up to intersect carter ledge trail and saved the road walk. i did cut down on the descent and it worked out well. |

| Comments: |
through the campground and partway up carter ledge trail some older, pre storm tracks were notable. before the middle sister junction they had disappeared. not as much new snow as i would have expected. maybe 6-8" of damp powder at most with thinner sections over an older light, crusty layer. this crust was only semi supportive for me today, but i wasn't going much deeper than just through it for the most part. thankfully the trails are well marked as i would have struggled to follow middle sister trail in some sections without the blazes. when i hit the ridge i started the bushwhack to blue in open woods then a bit of scrappy evergreens up to the recognized highpoint. i returned in my tracks until a likely spot to short cut straight down to rt. 16 fairly close to where i parked. |
