| Comments: |
Trail was solid, carried snowshoes the entire way. Frozen over postholes, some spots ankle-twisting. Traction is necessary above tree line. Butt-sliders wiped away some parts of the steeper sections, making for slower ascent and especially descent. It was a beautiful sunny day with minimal wind on the summit. Even still, with temps in the 20s we ate a quick lunch and headed back down to stay warm. Over the years, we have been trying out the various approaches to Monadnock and this is trail is by far the most pleasant! |
