Snowmobile Corridor 134, Ski Trails (4,8, 24,40), Connecting Trails
We took a connecting road into the Balsams, where we met corridor 134. We took a connector from the corridor to ski trail four and followed trail 8 and 24 around Mud Pond and towards Van Dyke. We got to the east slope of Van Dyke and bushwhacked up in open woods to the recognized highpoint. We followed our tracks to ski trail 40 and took this up to the west side of Abeniki. We bushwhacked up in open woods to the recognized highpoint.
Trails were unbroken, other than the snowmobile corridor. At times crust was supportive with just a bit of powder on top, while at other time we were sinking over a foot. |
