Gorgeous day to be outside and it seemed like a lot of people agreed with us - I've never seen so many cars lined up along Rte 302 in winter. Snow top-to-bottom. Fairly well-packed and most people were wearing just microspikes but we wore snowshoes on the ascent just because. We switched over to spikes for the descent as we could go faster that way by boot-sliding a bit. 50ft icy stretch just below summit was a little challenging but detoured into some softer snow off the trail for the snowshoes to bite. Did I mention it was a gorgeous day? |
