Comments
Comments: 3 of us climbed up Lions Head w microspikes, and while it was doable, I strongly advise using crampons, and bringing an ice axe to reduce the chance of slipping or falling.
The trail down Boott Spur was not broken at all, completely untracked, and following the trail required frequent checking of the GPS, as well as floundering through occasional chest deep powder, where it was easier to "swim' down that to to try to plow through. Again doable, but I suggest against attempting it, unless you are with awesome friends who are up for the extra adventure (as I was), and unless you have plenty of daylight: this is not a route to attempt in the dark!
