Comments
Comments: The White Dot Trail was like a well-packed sidewalk from bottom to top, with a few minor icy areas along the upper half. The Pumpelly Trail, at least from the summit to the Cascade Link junction, was decently well tracked, but with more ice. The Cascade Link was a mix of ice, frozen snow, and postholes. From the Pumpelly Trail junction to the Spellman Trail junction, there was a thin layer of untouched snow which concealed several areas of blue ice and frozen postholes. I wore light traction roundtrip and was fine, but with the incoming mild weather, there could be high potential for thaw-freeze cycles, which could lead to exposed glare ice requiring crampons.
