Not allowed in the park. Evidence of tracks, which probably was a coyote trailing a rabbit. |
|
| Bugs: |
None! Another reason to love winter hiking. |
|
| Lost and Found: |
A Dunkin Donuts cold drink, with straw, at the base of a tree on the Noble trail. Was this an improvised trail marker? It showed up just as I became unsure of the unbroken trail! |

| Comments: |
With moderate temperatures and little wind, this was a good day to summit (I only turned back due to other commitments, following a leisurely start). The Noble Trail was unbroken and difficult to follow in several places. Please be careful if following my prints in either direction. I am more comfortable in crampons on ice flows, and small ice flows were encountered multiple times, often under snow cover. There were plenty of animal tracks in an inch of new snow, including deer. One person left shallow prints going down DoDrop, making it much easier to follow. Not sure what traction, if any, they used, but the ice flows on this trail would be dangerous without some traction. |
