Comments
Comments: fr95 is snowmobile corridor and was groomed and snomo travelled to the shelburne trail summer trailhead (at open gate) and beyond. at the first clearing/old log landing after the summer trailhead we followed an old woods road down to connor brook and after crossing started our bushwhack up to the north ridge of east howe. open conifers to start then open hardwoods to the ridge around 1900ft. snow varied, but we were generally breaking about a foot with some easier and tougher sections. on the ridge we headed south avoiding as many bumps as we could along the way. breaking was generally a little easier than on the ascent to the ridge. once on the final ascent to the peak conditions got tougher with deeper and less consolidated snow, but decent woods, to the recognized highpoint. we returned in our tracks.
