Glorious day. We looped counterclockwise and used micros car to car. A couple of times after we hit height of land on Firescrew I thought we might need to switch to snowshoes, but we never postholed as long as we stayed on the monorail. Conditions going up Firescrew were good, but a little bit mashed potato snow. Final ascent was firm until the ledges. Ledges were a mixture of black ice and bare rock. Coming down was more heavily trafficked and packed smooth for a very fast descent. |
