I think I was the 4th one up to the hut. Trail started off great for snowshoeing, then up around the tent site it got messy. I put crampons on at hut and it was clear sailing to the summit. Had summit to myself for 25 minutes. Awesome weather made for spectacular views. Back down to the hut I put snowshoes back on and going down it was much better, the majority of the people I saw coming up were wearing snowshoes which was packing down the trail. Hats off to people who tagged Mt. Adams with Mt. Madison ... I wanted to but my legs were spent lol. |
