Comments
Comments: A pristine day in the Belks. Started at 7:30 am. Went up Boulder loop (Orange) in spikes, good condition, a bit icy on the rocks near the top. Ran in to 1 person (I didn't see a soul for the rest of the day until I got back to the Brook trail in the afternoon). Had the summit of Major all to myself. Epic views looking north toward the Whites. Had new snowshoes so switched to them on the Belknap Range (Blue) trail to give them a test drive, could have done it in spikes though. Out to Mt Anna, no issues. Back the same way but hopped onto the Quarry Trail (White) and went over the North peak of Straightback mountain to the North Straightback Link (Green) trail. These trails were much less traveled. Snow shoes were needed on the the Green trail. I connected back to the Brook trail (Yellow). This trail was so packed down (like a sidewalk) I bare booted back to the parking lot reaching it at 1:30 pm. I fine, peaceful day to stretch the legs and get some fresh air.
