Comments
Comments: Rough one today folks. About 1-3 inches of powder for the first 1/2 mile and then it quickly turned into about 6 inches. I barebooted up to this point but then threw my shoes on. Good thing too because within a couple hundred yards I was sinking to a minimum of 1 foot (when I was on the monorail), often 2 feet and regularly up to my hip (when I was off the hidden moving monorail). Drifts were consistently worse from all the wind, it was quite blustery I must say. At about .5 from the summit of Starr King, as I was entering the firs, the snow was a minimum of 2 feet and I called it quits. I've broken trail solo like that before but with the wind and the sound of a million trees ready to tipover? Nah, I'll be wise today. Otherwise great day to be out!

Met the nice lady who lives in the house right there at the roadside and she was awful nice to spend my last few feet of walking with. Other than her in the driveway I was alone all day. Only one car at the Galehead parking lot when I drove past around 12 or so. Until next time
