| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The summer lot is not plowed but is being used. Looks like AWD cars with snow tires should have no issues. There is some evidence that some folks may have has some issues as under the packed snow is ice. |

Folks were bare booting the trail although just because they could, they shouldn't have. The snow is dry, its compressed but does not compact (lousy for snowballs), Snowshoes glide right over the track but bare-booters end up in the equivalent of dry beach sand once the trail heads up slope. The boiling water principle applies, down low the track is pretty solid but it slowly gets less solid particularly once it heads into the softwoods.
Hard to beat the day, I have heard someone refer once to the blue color of the sky being something a person can not buy, it was definitely one of those days. One hundred plus miles visibility but the upper section of softwoods that is not sheltered from the west was decided cool. |
