Comments
Comments: No one had been here since the last storm. The lower portion of Nancy Pond Trail had a discernible snowshoe track but there was 3-5 inches of “fresh” snow on top that had to be packed down. The tracks kind of petered out just below the lower view point for the Cascades and we were completely on our own after that.

We made two route finding mistakes ... one below the lower view point (trail takes a sharp right hand turn and we went straight) and one right at (trail goes straight up the steep hil - we went left). We lost the trail and in both instances went too far to the left before circling back to get on the trail. On our way down we corrected things so if you go pick the right track instead of the left one in those two spots.

Once we got up to Nancy Pond and Norcross Pond we simply walked across the frozen surface instead of worrying about the trail weaving through the woods. We exited the west end of Norcross Pond and easily found the starting point for the bushwhack up to Nancy.

We were able to follow the herd path easily to the slide and instead of weaving around the trees we simply went up the slide. At the top we exited to far to the left and had to work our way back towards the herd path. We never did find it though and simply worked our way up through some open, some not, woods to get to the summit. Super deep snow in spots - made many holes that were at least hip deep (often more).
