| Comments: |
started off with spikes but switched to snowshoes early and snow was soft and powdery, traction better with the shoes; approaching Lafayette there were some icy spots where crampons and ice axe could have been used..just looked for a slightly different route to get to summit..pretty rocky on the Ridge, with some drifted spots, probably spikes the best way to go though there were some postholed drifts..snowshoes down the Falling Waters Trail, though there were spots that had been slid down..about 15 hikers spaced out so not much contact with each other...great views today again!! |
