 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The actual parking area can’t fit many cars but people parked along side the road and made it work :) The road in and all was plowed well and shouldn’t pose any issues. |
|
 | Surface Conditions: |
Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow - Unpacked Powder |
|
 | Recommended Equipment: |
Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|
 | Water Crossing Notes: |
All underneath lots of snow. No issues even the very warm temps. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No blaze except for a blue diamond or two between the cabin and the top. Still very easy to follow given that it’s a ski trail and is thus very wide. The short section of East Pasture X-C Ski Trail that I was on was partially snowed in postholes but was easy enough to follow. Black Mtn Cutoff was partially snowed in snowshoe prints. Snowshoes needed here. A little more brushy here but easy to follow. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Saw one on the trail doing just fine :) |

 | Comments: |
A pair of small snowshoes with a semi-descent crampon would be best at the moment. You could get away with spikes or bareboots to the top but you’d chop the trail up a bit if not occasionally posthole on the way down if you weren’t watching where you stepped. Snowshoes are needed if you want to do the loop at the top. An even warmer day than predicted made it feel like spring! |
