Nice hike to Jackson using snowshoes the entire time, some ice on peak and traction a must. Decided to try to hike Webster Trail loop. Lone hiker with spike posthole trail from Webster to Jackson but not via the loop. Just short of the final push to Webster we decided to try to find the loop trail back to Webster-Jackson. After a few false trials on the blue blaze which we could not continue to find after the first couple blue blazes and after ending up sinking to hip depth we decided to follow our trail back up Jackson and go down the way we came up. We did run across a couple of other people trying to locate and pursue the loop but turned back. I would not recommend following our trail from Jackson. |
