Saw a few dogs on the Pierce-Eisenhower section, good day for them, no problems. |

Up Crawford Path to Pierce, over to Eisenhower, then back and down to Mizpah Hut, Webster Cliff up to the summit, Webster-Jackson down to rt 302. Wore spikes to half way between Pierce and Eisenhower, then snowshoes all the day to the descent from Jackson. All trails hardpacked and broken except for the Webster Cliff Tr down to the hut, and then continuing on to Jackson. Significant drifting made for slow going and GPS route finding, particularly on the way up Jackson. Report will likely not be that useful as of Sunday's snow. All in all a great day out with bluebird skies. 31 mph and 13 deg F on Eisenhower summit around 12:30pm. Nice running into Hiker Ed on Eisenhower, and just in time as my blood sugar was getting low! :) Also props to Andy and Yvonne for catching up to me on the Jackson ascent and breaking trail. |
