A bit challenging. At 8:30 we got the last of 3 spots on the access road to Hancock overlook parking lot. Large snow banks. Kang to that point had lots frost heaves. |

| Comments: |
Trails were well packed but high up requiring numerous duck unders. I bare booted a while while others wore spikes. Changed to snowshoes on the steeper sections. Section between summits rather gnarly and went off trail for a ways. Views were terrific on North Hancock with only a hint of a breeze. The highlight of the hike was the "mother" of all butt slides down South Hancock for about 1/3 mile down 700 feet vertical and half or more of the total distance down to the junction. Had no trouble controlling the rate of descent using snowshoe tails and hands. |
