Comments
Comments: 19MB is spikes or bare boots. Put shoes on at Carter Dome Tr and they were easier. Just soft enough the spikes slipped. Carter Moriah Tr. meanders a bit but is mostly on. Most were in snowshoes which is what you should be in. Met 3 coming from the north in boots/spikes and they chopped it up. You are in the treetops on CM so branches everywhere. Saw one fellow with a gash under his eye and one in our group took one under his glasses. Might not want to bring your new pack on this one. The upside is that all this snow makes for views you won't normally get! Went to Mt. Leithe for a winter 72. CM Tr. split just before with one path staying low and the other went up to Mt. Leithe. Worth the few extra feet/elevation as you walk out with only the very tops of the trees/scrub at your knees. Nice view mtn right now. North Carter was more of the same and it wasn't until the hardwoods that the branch danger was over. Great day out with two Karen's and Gordon
