| Comments: |
The trail to the Hancocks is well packed, getting all the traffic. However, the spur trail up North Hancock was full of loose snow. Booted to the junction, snow shoes to the summit. Snow depth on the slope had buried all the trail paint blazes to the summit. At least 5+ ft of snow to do that. Excellent views off North Hancock from the deep snowpack. Mountains visible in all directions, including Mt Washington, Mt Moosilaukee, and Mt Lafayette. Did not do the loop over to South Hancock, but the trail was broken out and other hikers were traveling it. No recent tracks showing on the further sections of the Hancock Notch and Cedar Brook trails. |
