Comments
Comments: Morning showers (not too much rain) gave way to a sunny afternoon in this area, with temperatures hitting 60 degrees.

Old Bridle Path is typically bootpacked. It was bootable this afternoon, but just barely. I was spinning my tires a lot in spikes and the footbed was very soft. Lots of postholes along the sides. In hindsight, I would have worn snowshoes for better traction and flotation.

I took a few steps onto the previously packed Ridge Trail and instantly postholed up to my knees. Not wanting to trash the trail, I turned around. Snowshoes are absolutely necessary on these side trails right now, with full snowpack, probably 2-3 feet deep.
