Comments
Comments: Up Glencliff then Carriage Rd to summit of Moosilauke. Trail is a mix of conditions and has a considerable amount of post holes to various levels along its entirety. Snowshoes suggested as lower down the trail is looser, higher up it is more solid. All water crossings are fine, but note that the bridges on some are weakening. If you step off the monorail you will sink into the snow, even some of the monorail is damaged from the warm few days and post-holes. Glencliff had very little ice along its entire length, so no issues there. Summit cone has solid ice at base to top, wore snowshoes and that sufficed (good traction on the TSL ones), but at the very least microspikes are needed and caution should be used. Snow squalls and good amount of wind, but nothing out of the ordinary for a mild-winter day on Moosilauke, though very few people (saw 10) all day and saw no-body else whiles ascending / descending Glencliff.
