Comments
Comments: Went up Peek Path to Mt. Crescent Trail. At the loop, went up the east side - Crescent Ridge Tr. Short bushwhack to tag the summit proper. Conditions along the way bordered between supportive... to soft spring snow on which we sank a couple of inches... to soft spring snow where we postholed with snowshoes. Trail is going to be messy. We had initially planned to continue over Carlton Notch.... but the trail has not gotten enough use, and every 2nd step was a deep snowshoe posthole... so we descended off the west loop on better consolidated trail. Took the Mt. Crescent Tr. down to the snomo road so folks could redline.

Really enjoyable open hardwoods. I hadn't been here in a while, and was reminded how nice a hike it was.

Fun day with Karen & Ken R., Steve... and a apres trip to rek-lis :-)
