Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Here's where it gets a bit tricky for this section of WEFT. In summer, there would normally be space for a couple of cars at the end of the Stickney Hill Road exit ramp off I-89 north in Concord. Just before going under the highway, the trail leaves right at a gate. If there's no one behind you on the ramp, you can pull off here. In winter, the best parking is along the dead end extension of Stickney Hill Road, east of the highway interchange. This is approximately 0.2 mi. from the gate. I parked along the road. Please note the posted times that parking is allowed here.

Comments
Comments: I hiked a section of this long distance trail which connects four farms on the west side of Concord, going from I-89 to Dimond Hill Farm, just west of the Concord / Hopkinton town line.

From parking, I walked up the road, crossed both access ramps, passed under the highway, then turned left onto the trail, which also coincides with Snowmobile Corridor 11 at this point. About half of this section is on the snowmobile trail, and the other half is on a footpath.

The snomo sections were packed solid with some areas of exposed ice and the footpath section was also well packed by snowshoes. I carried light traction, but barebooted round trip.

I walked up to Dimond Hill Farm and back. This is a very gentle ascent the whole way through beautiful pine forest along wide and clearly marked paths. The footpath section of WEFT also has two marked parallel bypasses for snowshoers, as skiers are being encouraged to stay on the main route.

This hike is kinda noisy as you start out next to the highway, but becomes more quiet and remote feeling as to head north.
