Trails: Dicey's Mill Trail
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, March 17, 2019
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Ferncroft Rd. and the road into the parking area were full of frozen ruts. Also, routes 113 and 113A were full of frost heaves, some of which I had to slow down to a near-crawl to drive over safely.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Ice - Black, Snow - Packed Powder/Loose Granular, Snow/Ice - Postholes
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Only major crossing had a log over it, which was best crossed while wearing light traction. One could rock hop the crossing instead, but beware of black ice on the rocks.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A double blowdown near the summit of Passaconaway, otherwise no major issues.

Comments
Comments: Dicey's Mill Trail was like a sidewalk from bottom to top, with some old postholes here and there. Light traction was clearly the way to go- most people I saw brought snowshoes, but almost none of them actually wore them. Conditions may change with this next week of mild weather, though.
